Nationwide Windows Ltd Introduces Further Qualification to In-House GQA Testing Centre

Workforce development is key to Nationwide Window Ltd. Since 2016, they are the only window and door manufacturer to have a GQA Approved in-house training centre meaning that through on-the-job training, operatives have the opportunity to gain relevant qualifications under the guidance of the industry’s specialist awarding body.   So far we have had 17 successful candidates qualifying with either Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ, with a further 30 currently working towards qualifications.  Stuart Taylor, Service Engineer at Nationwide, is the latest successful candidate to gain a qualification, which is the first of its kind for Nationwide Windows and Doors and new to the GQA. 

David Naylor, Training Officer comments: “Stuart has already completed the Level 2 NVQ in Fenestration Installation qualification 5 years prior, the new course Level 2 Award for Fenestration Installation Competency Update refreshes and updates his Minimum Technical Competency (MTC) compliance with current industry standards and regulations.  As part of the training, Stuart also undertook a Health & Safety paper that satisfies requirements for Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS); as a result, Stuart now holds a Q-card which is compliant to both MTC and CSCS – the two main competency requirements in our sector.

 “Congratulations to Stuart for successfully setting the benchmark for this new qualification which combines the NVQ training with CSCS requirements.”
