Newark and Sherwood Homes are the Successful Recipients of the £1000 Community Scheme Prize donated by Nationwide Windows & Doors

Nationwide Windows & Doors is delighted to announce that the successful recipient of its £1000 Community Scheme Prize is Newark and Sherwood Homes and their nominated scheme: Hawtonville Community Regeneration and Drop-In centre. Launched at this year’s CIH Housing 2017 conference and exhibition under the theme of Changing Lives In Homes and Communities, visitors were asked to nominate worthy community causes that could benefit from a £1000 donation.

Kevin Caveney, Nationwide Windows & Doors’ Director of Commercial Sales, who presented the cheque to Newark and Sherwood Homes’ Paula Joyce and local resident Jane Langford, commented: “We’re delighted to donate £1000 to Newark and Sherwood Homes for Hawtonville Community Centre which is used by local, voluntary groups for sports, activities, fitness clubs and community wellbeing clubs.  Having recently assumed management of the building, Newark and Sherwood Homes recognised that to achieve their aim of raising the centre’s profile as a valuable local community resource, refurbishment work was required. So our £1000 donation will go towards the regeneration of the hub including top to bottom cleaning of the facility, decoration and carpet refurbishment. On behalf of Nationwide Windows & Doors, I’m delighted that our donation will make a positive impact on the community and look forward to seeing the end result.”

Rebecca Rance, Chief Executive at Newark and Sherwood Homes added: “We are delighted with this prize from Nationwide Windows & Doors and we are very grateful for their support. Hawtonville Community Centre is an important part of the local community and this money will help to redecorate the building for the benefit of the local groups who use it every day.”
