Turn Key Fire Door Solutions

As one of the largest suppliers of windows and doors to the social housing sector, Nationwide Windows Ltd is also one of the few partners to offer a full turn-key solution when it comes to fire doors. Fully accredited in both fire door manufacture and installation, Compliance Director Chris Costall highlights the benefits:

There are several critical processes from the point of fire door specification, through manufacture to installation in homes. Whilst some companies are approved to manufacture the doors, these high levels are then not always matched when it comes to the fitting process, and this can create a crucial break point in what should be a seamless process. Nationwide Windows Ltd hold a vertically integrated status as third party accredited Exova BM Trada Q-Mark approved manufacturers and installers of fire doors, meaning we are able to bridge that break point for our customers.

“We offer one of the largest ranges of third party accredited fire doors that have the scope, specification and appearance to match a standard GRP composite door, but third-party Exova BM Trada Q-mark approved at every applicable level.  Not only are we accredited manufacturers and installers, we also hold BS8213 Surveyor and Installer certificate and PAS 2030 Installation of Energy Efficient measures.  Furthermore, key members in our supply chain are also third party accredited.

“Not only have our fire doors undergone rigorous testing in a trial situation, they have also proven their performance in real-life during a fire at a block of flats in Derbyshire.  Thankfully no one was hurt in the blaze and our FC30 Fire Doors clearly demonstrated necessity of specifying the right fire doors for any social housing project.

“With the onus placed on the client to specify safely, partnering with suppliers who hold third party accreditations is the best way to provide independent assurance to architects, specifiers, enforcing authorities and building owners that every door involved in their schemes meets all the relevant requirements.  For the customer, this simply means that they can be rest assured that the installed product will be safe and effective in the event of a fire.”
