Nationwide Windows Ltd Creating ‘A Lasting Legacy’ with Cheltenham Borough Homes
Leading fenestration partner Nationwide Windows Ltd embarked on a journey with Cheltenham Borough Homes CBH (ALMO for Cheltenham Borough Council CBC) 14 months ago, in a partnership that will see more than 5,000 CBC properties benefit from door and window replacements over the next six years.
Julian Denslow, Asset & Procurement Surveyor at CBH comments: “When it came to appointing a partner for this significant door and window replacement programme, we had three key objectives: To provide high spec quality products, installed to the highest quality finish, with a partner who shares our vision and values. I believe that with Nationwide Windows Ltd we’re achieving this.
“The first major benefit that Nationwide Windows Ltd offered CBH was being able to fabricate and install better energy efficiency than expected within the original budget which is directly benefitting residents through even greater savings to their heating bills. The 1.2 U Value windows exceed the requirement of the current building regulations and means our housing stock is future proofed should energy performance legislation tighten further. There is however no point having the best product if the installation is not up to scratch, so we have strong quality assurances in place at every stage of the fitting process. The Nationwide Windows Ltd team is performing really well against them.
“The third area that’s hugely important to us on behalf of residents is ensuring we work with partners who share our commitment to the local community. Nationwide Windows Ltd demonstrated this with a £875,000 investment into a new local depot that includes 12 fitting teams and a workforce totalling thirty-five employees.
“I remember the days when project management was transactional and could be adversarial. In contrast, the relationship we have with Nationwide Windows Ltd is how it should be - collaborative and forward thinking. It really is a pleasure working with them and I’d describe our relationship as very positive with shared goals. I am confident that in six years’ time at the end of the programme, both CBH and Nationwide Windows Ltd will be able say we’ve delivered quality products, professionally installed, that will leave a lasting legacy for the Cheltenham community.”
Adrian Pavey, Commercial Director at Nationwide Ltd concludes: “We acknowledge the pressures faced by social housing landlords. While still facing rent cuts, they are expected to continue investing in and improving their housing stock. This is where innovation and collaborative working, as we’ve done with Julian and his team in Cheltenham, pays dividends. The strength of a relationship is built with a good team, that deliver a great service.”
