Supporting Nottingham Community Housing Association and Holmfield Reminiscence Village
Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) is one of the largest locally-based housing groups in the East Midlands. Operating for 45 years, the organisation manages over 9,500 homes, with particular support for some of the most vulnerable people in our society, including those with dementia.
Nationwide has been working with NCHA for around 4 years and we recently donated £1000 to support of the creation of Holmfield Reminiscence Village - a 1940’s themed area in the gardens of Holmfield Day Care Centre that is designed to take people with dementia back to a time they can more easily remember, as well as encouraging them to spend more time being active and outdoors.
Nationwide’s Director of Commercial Sales, Kevin Caveney who accepted the presentation in recognition of the donation commented: “We are proud to have supported NCHA in their work to help those with dementia, an increasingly common condition with which sadly, many of us can relate. Nationwide has a strong ethos of giving back to the communities in which we work and we hope we’ve gone a small way to make a positive impact in supporting the 25 or so daily visitors to the village.”
